Hey all, I'm skilltricky, and I originally found out about Drift Stage via Kotaku.
I've been following this game's development progress since, and have shown my support by backing the game via the Humble payment option (this is the first game I have ever backed before).
I've played a lot of racing games in my time, including big hits such as Forza and Gran Turismo, right down to the classics such as Out Run and Top Gear (OutRun 2 & 2006: Coast 2 Coast arguably being my favourite arcade racing games of all-time). I've even dabbled in various online racers such as Need for Speed World, Drift City and Trackmania, and have also played the majority of entries in the long-running Need for Speed series.
I rate the likes of Criterion Games (creators of the Burnout series who eventual went onto NFS), Sumo Digital (OutRun series, Sonic Racing), Namco (Ridge Racer) and Playground Games (Forza Horizon) pretty highly for their efforts over the years. My love for racing titles probably started somewhere along the lines of Super Mario Kart, and since then, I've been hooked on racing games of all types - particularly ones with a focus on drifting.
As soon as I tried out the Early Alpha Demo of Drift Stage I got vibes of Initial D, and a lot of classic arcade racing games. I am very impressed with the direction this title is going, and am totally on-board for the full-development cycle. From what I've seen, heard and read, Drift Stage is in capable hands with the guys behind this title having a clear direction moving forward, and both knowledge and understanding of their target audience.
Look forward to engaging with you all further.
