I use a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor as my main display and I'm a big fan of the wider screen area.
While many games run without much of a problem in this ultra-widescreen configuration, there are also many games that just won't work.
Drift Stage already handles this aspect ratio quite well!
It's nice to see a game in this early state already working great during gameplay in ultra-widescreen.
However there are still a few instances where it isn't working 100% correctly.
These are quite minor errors/problems, so it's fully understandable that this will be of low priority, since it works for the most part and the aspect ratio isn't that widely used.
However I would still like to suggest a few things:
- If you're adding borderless fullscreen support, please allow other aspect ratios to still be displayed correctly. Most games will just stretch out the image (for example Call of Duty) instead of keeping the correct lower aspect ratio.
- Maybe give the option to have things like the HUD or the menus to be still displayed in it's correct aspect ratio, for example in 16:9 while running in a 21:9 aspect ratio. Then "simply" (not sure how much work this is) provide a wider field of view during gameplay or whenever real-time backgrounds are used. For example the demo part before the main menu or the 2D plane in the background of the main menu.
Anway, thanks for reading I guess.
I'm looking forward to the development of Drift Stage!
