I was just wondering what some of your favorite jams are for racing/driving - from any source, not restricted to video games. (mainly creating this for selfish reasons so that I have more music to listen to while coding )
I know that Myrone is really the only music you need (btw, check out the video he cut together in collaboration with @meptrep for his latest song if you haven't already), but sometimes it's tough to listen to it 24 hours a day and I need a b-tier palette cleanser so that my brain doesn't become over-saturated with awesome.
Here's a few to get things going:
R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 OST - I've listened to this soundtrack a crazy amount. The entire thing is amazing top to bottom. Really great breakbeat jazz inspired stuff.
Super Hang-On OST - This arranged version in particular. Hang-On in general, not just the soundtrack, gets overlooked in favor of Outrun far too often. It really deserves more attention.
Touge Max 2 OST - I have to get a little more selective here because I think only about half of the tracks are good enough to demand frequent listening (5, 7, 9, 10, 11)
Wave Racer - There's a lot of what I guess you would call "indie dance hits" in the playlists. Just throwing out this Wave Racer remix as an example.
Hideki Naganuma - Gotta give him a shout out because he's a fan of Drift Stage and Myrone, and because his work on the Jet Set Radio and Sega Rally soundtracks are some of the best hip-hop/house/rock inspired stuff ever done for a game.
